Nikon officially unveiled the D5600 in other parts of the world already, but today the company made the new upper entry level D5600 DSLR official here in the US. The new camera brings the latest Nikon technologies like Snapbridge and pairs it with a very capable 24MP sensor to make a great entry level camera for US photographers.
As you would expect, the D5600 is slotted nicely as Nikon’s ‘serious’ entry level DSLR, one step above but similarly speced to the D3xxx series, but still below that of the D7xxx series or D500. This looks to be a starter camera that has some good room to grow for a beginner, but as with most D5xxx series bodies, looks to lose out as an upgrade to better bodies like the D500 and D7xxx series cameras.
One thing I would say about this is that it looks to be a decent vlogging camera, so long as you are ok with 1080p video. It does have a mic input and selfie screen, so this could make for nice little camera for someone looking to vlog on Youtube or something.
