For Windows users, the Windows Store has always been sort of a novelty, full of gimmicky software and less than useful apps for photographers. That has changed in recent years and with Windows 10 the store started to actually have some useful additions, and that trend continues today with the latest news that Adobe’s Photoshop Elements 15 is now available through the Windows Store.
This is a big deal for Adobe and Microsoft alike as this is one of the first big-name software packages to ever be made available through the Windows Store. Up until now, the store has mostly been a home for mobile-focused apps like Photoshop express or Facebook Messenger, but with the addition of Photoshop Elements 15 that trend changes and this could be the start of more big name apps making themselves available directly through the store.
Adobe announced Photoshop Elements 15 several weeks ago, bringing many of the most advanced features of Photoshop CC down to the consumer-focused version of the software. An interesting note about the Windows Store version of the software is that it gives users the ability to install it on up to 10 Windows 10 devices, many more times that the 2 activations allowed through the versions downloaded or purchased elsewhere.
Interestingly enough, Adobe is also giving a nice incentive to jump on this new availability, with Photoshop Elements 15 discounted to just $60 in the Windows store. A cool $40 off the usual price of $100. Interested Windows users can find the app now over through the Windows Store.
