Fujifilm might have stepped out of the point and shoot game but that does not mean it’s out of new cameras to roll out. Today Fujifilm announced a whopping five new cameras. Each one is interesting in its own right but the FinePix S1 wins top picks for have the longest zoom of the bunch at 50x using optics alone and then 100x with 2x digital enhancements. Numbers wise, the FinePix S1 can zoom between 24mm-1200mm at minimum apertures of f2.8 and f5.6, respectively. Behind its long reach lens, the FinePix S1 boasts a 16.4MP CMOS sensor and built in Wi-Fi all priced for $499.95.
For slightly lighter price tag the S9400W, and it’s W-less or Wi-Fi-less brother, the S9200 will be available for $349.95 and $329.95, respectively. The two bridge cameras have same exact 50x reach as the FinePix S1 albeit with a slightly smaller 16.2MP sensor as well as a tighter minimum aperture between f2.9 and f6.4.
Moving down the zoom range, the FinePix S8600 features a 36x optical zoom for an equivalent 25mm to 900mm focal length. While FinePix S8600 might pack slightly less zoom punch, it makes up for this with a three-step collapsible lens that makes it one of the slimmest superzoom cameras to carry around. The bridge camera also comes rocking a 16MP CCD sensor and a camera body that’s available in black, white, and red. Fujifilm prices the FinePix S8600 at $229.95.
If dropping your camera on the ground or into puddles is a common issue for you, the FinePix XP70 might save you some money and tears. The latest camera in the XP line, the XP70 is ruggedized digital camera that’s waterproof to 33ft, shockproof from 5ft, freezeproof to 14°F. It’s also dustproof for all those shoots in the wilderness and on the beach. Aside from the hard shell, it has a 16MP CMOS sensor that can capture 1080p movies even whilst underwater. The FinePix XP70 is priced at $229.95 and it will be available in blue, orange, and yellow colors.
Lastly the Japanese camera company introduced a mobile printer that photographers can use to instantly create film prints wherever they are using a smartphone or tablet. The INSTAX Share SP-1 Printer creates its own Wi-Fi hotspot and connects to devices through INSTAX Share App on iOS as well as Android. The mini portable printer can develop 2 x 3in photos on the spot and it uses the widely available ISO 800 speed INSTAX mini film to create roughly 100 prints on two CR2 lithium batteries. Fujifilm lists the INSTAX Share SP-1 Printer will be in stores later this April for $199.95.
Fujifilm announced all the FinePix cameras will be available starting in March 2014. Click past the break for more specs on all of the new FinePix cameras.
