When the Impossible Project announced further details for the Instant Lab earlier this year, they also explained that an iOS app will be coming to aid with the use of the lab. In a press release issued today, the company announced that the app will be released later this month (July 2013.) The Impossible Project partners with nxtbgthing, who brought SoundCloud to iOS.
The app is designed to be used with the lab–which takes a digital photo from your phone and turns it into an instant print filled with retro-analog goodness. Plus, the app will come with a scanner that is said to make photo scanning and sharing to social media easier. The images can also be shared in the Impossible Project User Gallery–where the user can peruse the photos of loads of other photographers. The functionality of this part sounds very similar to VSCO Grid.
The app will be a free download from the iOS store when it goes live.
