Update II
It seems it was April 1rst, really early. Adobe is not giving out free copies of Creative Suite 2 (CS2) as I was so happy to report earlier. Adobe said it was a mistake on their part.
On behalf of Adobe Systems Incorporated …
You have heard wrong! Adobe is absolutely not providing free copies of CS2!
What is true is that Adobe is terminating the activation servers for CS2 and that for existing licensed users of CS2 who need to reinstall their software, copies of CS2 that don’t require activation but do require valid serial numbers are available. (Special serial numbers are provided on the page for each product download.) See <https://forums.adobe.com/thread/1114930>.
You are only legally entitled to download and install with that serial number if you have a valid license to the product!

I hope Adobe comes up with something to capitalize on the amount of buzz this created on the internet.
Update: It seems the link has gone down, sorry for the confusion, hopefully it will return .
I had to stop drinking my coffee for this one and look at the calendar to see if it was April 1st already. Adobe, in what I consider a shocking move, has made CS2 Premium Plus (serial numbers and all) available for download at no cost. This is available for windows and mac. It is an attempt to curb pirated software. While it’s not the new kid on the block, CS2 will serve your imaging and video editing needs well. The software was drooled over it in 2005 when it originally came out.
If you are a creative with a limited budget this is an excellent opportunity to grow.
You do need an Adobe account to get the files, Download available here
The new version Adobe Photoshop CS6 is $559.00 if you have to have the newest version.
