Through a strange series of events, which is increasingly more common, I ended up with the Nikon 50 mm f1.8 G. In the short time that I have used it, I am rather impressed by everything about it. The lens is slightly different. Its vibration, ergonomics, and how I handle it are all uncanny.
The Nikon 50mm f1.8G is my third 50mm lens. It’s something I sort of hesitated about and avoided. I thought I did not need it. I have had the 50 f1.8 D for a while now. Save for it being a bit dinged, it works very well, especially on my N2020 and my D90.
I recently started using the lens and it’s much more than I thought it would be. The 50mm f1.8G really reminds me of 40mm f2.8G ergonomically. For reasons which I will discuss in the full review, it complements the Nikon 40mm . I will be reviewing it and comparing it to my other 50mms in the near future. Stay tuned.
