I’ve reviewed the Eye-Fi card with many cameras and loved it with the Canon T3i, Olympus EPL-2, Canon 60D, and more. It’s an amazing memory card and will make a great gift for mom or yourself.

UPDATE: the winner is B Coram with his comment-

I would use this card to share photos that I take while I’m away at college with my mother (and the rest of my family). It’ll definitely help bridge the gap between here and home.

  • Dilligas785

My family is scattered, and this would make it easier to stay in touch with photos

My mum used to love taking pictures with her film Canon AE-1, however I recently bought her a new camera for christmas and while she still has the skill to get some fantastic moments, the syncing process has always daunted her. With the Eye-fi she wouldn’t need to worry about it as much. I want to see her use it more as i leave the house, so i can watch my nephew grow from the pictures, while i’m away.

  • Bob Devito

I love taking photos with my Nikon cameras. I’ve been looking at these Eye-Fi cards for a while now. I’d use to to capture photos at events and upload them directly to my laptop. Unfortunately, Mom isn’t around anymore. If she was…I’d use it to capture moments with her to have those for my lifetime. She is sorely missed. It was just her and I after dad passed away when I was 10. Hard to believe that is so long ago. Perhaps I could use the card to upload photos I take of other peoples parents and families. Hmmmm….
I’ve liked / followed both you and Eye-Fi on Facebook and Twitter.
    Best always,
    Bob DeVito

Funny cause i JUST gave my mom my old iPad and i gave her the camera connector kit that i had with it so now i’m lacking a way to transfer my SDHC card from my 60D. This card would be AMAZING to setup with my Timelapses when i shoot them on the roof and i need to let it go over night, i’d be able to setup a WiFi connection and not worry about a limit of shots per second as they would be transfering as they were filling up the card.

    would be fantastic!

It might be just the motivation I need to actually go out and buy the DSLR I’ve been holding off on. Then, I guess I would “HAVE” to take pictures of my kids and “BE FORCED” to send them to my mother for Mothers Day… Please Oh Please….. Don’t make me do it….

  • batec

This would be for my mother-in-law as then she would never again have to ask me how to get her pictures from her camera to her computer as she does every time she fills up her 512mb memory card.

My Mom takes a lot of photos but not the quickest when it come to tech and now that my eldest sister had her first child. My mom is taking more and more photos all the time, and this would really help her out. Not only helping her keeping thing more organized, but a quicker for her to get for photos onto the computer. Let me tell you she could use it between the the 5 kids my mom has, the 6 nieces nephew, and now a now she is a grand mother she takes A LOT of photos.

  • http://www.facebook.com/Lisa.Crane.Photography Lisa Crane

I would be able to pull the photos off wirelessly. What a concept.

  • http://twitter.com/JCMua JC

To be honest I’ll use the Eye-Fi Pro X2 card on my Nikon D7000 to send photos in real time to my iPad, so I can see, show, select and share to twitter and facebook my best pictures in a really Sci-Fi kind of way, “Viva la tecnologia”

  • Ian Kuo

This would mean no more futzing around with cables for mom! Of course, since she’s not very tech-oriented, it would give her even more reasons to call her personal tech support: me!

I just bought my first DSLR (a D3100) and this would be an awesome addition to my slowly growing food photography gear set.

  • http://twitter.com/RADFoundation Bart & Tara

This is easy. My Mom would give me the card – like all good mom’s she is happiest when I am happy. She would also insist that she have access to the Eye-Fi center to see all the photos I’m taking. Why? Because, like all good moms, she loves seeing what’s going on in my world. I’d probably get a few calls – “Hey! You’re room is looking a little messy!”

  • http://www.facebook.com/stephenpyle Stephen Pyle

This would be for the mother of my 18 month old daughter… I take a lot of pictures, mostly of that daughter and getting them uploaded to where my wife can get them is not something I can always do in a timely fashion…

With them getting uploaded automatically – my wife will be able to update family on our daughter’s latest adventures that much quicker…

I’ve just bought my first DSLR, a 550d,. With my Mum living 600miles away the second i take a special photo she would be able to access it and feel like she’s not 600 miles away from the things she loves anymore.

All I can tell you is what I will NOT be doing: I will not be explaining to my mother over the phone how to connect her camera to the computer every two weeks. I will not be given a handful of memory cards to download images from when I visit. Best of all, I will NOT frustrate my mom when I attempt to show her the step-by-step instructions that will enable her to do this all on her own.

  • Adriatic Blue

I can tell you exactly how I’d use this card – to cater to a little laziness, I’ll be honest, and for convenience too. I love my Canon digital camera. However…When it’s time to upload pics to my Mac for archiving, I have to steal a USB port from another device to do this because I only have a few USB ports and can’t just leave my Canon USB cable connected all the time. Thus, I’m tired of this back ‘n forth game of connecting & disconnecting cables constantly to get my pics, especially when I have fast WIFI at home that I could quickly upload pics with using that cute, bright orange Eye-Fi card. And there you have it…

  • Raymonddy

Cool gift for the wife. So I wouldn’t have to transfer her photos to her computer everytime.

  • RAD Moose

The Eye-Fi cards rock, and I wish I could have one to be able to make transferring pix easier for my Mom who has ALZ.

But how big of a camera do I need to fit in the one above? It is HUGE! (just kddding.)

  • Manuu

I want to test this awesome card with a camera mounted on a quadrocopter. If the distance is ok it would be awesome.

  • David Alvarez

    My mom loves taking pictures.

You know how everyone says their mom likes taking snapshots, even in the most awkward family moments? Well, my mom coined the term “paparazzi” (or she could’ve had, at least). Once, on a family trip to Europe, she took 10,069 pictures on a 12 day period! That’s around 850 pictures per day or one picture every less than two minutes!! (if she hadn’t slept at tall, which she did!). Tell me about being stalked… I mean, tell me about being a loved and cared-for child :-) She, of course, filled up her SD cards a couple of times which would not have happened with Eye-Fi’s Endless Memory mode.

Back home, alas… the countless hours she spent organizing all those pictures! And also having to worry about backing them up and organizing them by date and then sharing those pictures with our loved ones… it was quite a challenge, not to say a hassle! If only there had been some way of sharing easily our pictures without having to upload picture by picture to our mail accounts or waiting for relatives to come by and share the pictures with them… humm, I wonder…

This, of course, was back in 2007 and I had only dreamed of such a device that would automatically -nay, *magically* transfer pictures to our computers or a website as soon as those pictures were taken. Instead, my mom (with my help -at times) had to go through sessions of plugging cables, backing up SD cards and creating CD’s… we haven’t had such a thoroughly-covered family trip like that one since then, but she still takes a lot of pictures in her elementary school of which she is the principal, as well as every little family occasion she can lay the shutter on. She keeps SD cards around like there’s no tomorrow.

Without a doubt, this would be one of the most fantastic gifts I could ever give her (if not probably the best one). I surely hope this can be the best mother’s day yet :-)

  • Raphael Marinho

Ahhh… Endless beautiful family memories transfered over wifi. More time for shots, less wires.

  • Spoorthy Vemula

This would mean that I can save money on higher capacity cards that i actually have to buy ;D

Great way to upload photos to Facebook or twitter for the whole family to see.

  • Brady Ross

Im taking a trip with my mom to Washington DC and we’re super excited to take pictures because of the recent events there!

  • https://launchpad.net/~henridv Henridv

This summer I’m making a hitchhiking trip crossing europe into central asia. I would use the Eye-Fi card to update my family on what I’ve seen and where I am. (I have a Nikon D90)

  • Clayton

This would be a nice addition to my camera bag!

  • Mike Berry

I’d use the Eye-Fi card in my Canon T2i to automatically upload photos to Costco.com so my mom could see and print pictures of her grandchildren.

  • Aidan

My mother would absolutely love this, she hasn’t taken out the D90 in a while but I get the feeling that something new just might have her fall in love with one of her first loves again.

  • Carrano

Would love it for taking pics of the grandkids for Mom!

  • Nair

My mom would love this card because I didn’t spend a penny on this AND I finally actually won a prize in a “competition”. *rolling eyes*

  • Adam Czuprynski

This would be perfect so that any time I shoot pictures at my Moms house, I can have the pictures automagically upload to her computer before I have to leave.

  • Jeremyv10

Mom would love this for the vacation in June. We can upload the photos automatically while eating dinner :)

  • Tim Maram

I would love to have this card to instantly upload to my iPad for shooting family and friends events. Having family holding the iPad and viewing the photos instantly is an amazing technology. Also to let my wife enjoy it who’s celebrating her first mothers day this year with our girl that we love.

  • Mark Kalan

WifFi? We don’t have no stinkin’ WiFi! We’re in the woods. (But it would make shooting parties easier!)

  • http://twitter.com/choiMatthew Matthew Choi

I could immediately show the family photos that I’ve taken on the large monitor at home – my mom would definitely be happy with that as she does not have to that good eyesight. What’s more, I could upload the photos to Facebook to share with my relatives as well!

  • Ted

My mother would use it for tracking down furniture for my still empty apartmen . ya know..the upload feature on flickr and such

  • Scott Silence

With us having two small kids and living far away from Family, a card like this would make it easier to upload the pictures for grandma and grandpa to see.

  • http://twitter.com/TheGoOse Ganso

Sadly, my mom passed away a few years ago, but two of my sisters are now mothers, and I hope my wife will be one soon.

With each one of us living in a different place in the world, from Spain to Australia, every mother’s day we depend on technology to share kids pictures and greet every mom in the family, and that’s when an Eye-Fi card can help keeping us real close, real quick :)

  • MH

I’d use the card to take pictures of my mom’s grandkids. She’ll love anything that helps with that.

  • Harris McGehee

I would love it for photoblogging at home. Simple shoot and upload.

  • http://twitter.com/TheBrianCoram B Coram

If I win, I’d be helping out Three Moms. My own Mom is not technologically inclined so to speak. She’d love to see more pictures of her grandkids but I don’t always have the time to upload, print and hand them over to her. If I can just give her a weblink that she can check when she wants to, she’d be very happy. This would also be true of my wife’s mom, who is more tech skilled, but still doesn’t get to see the grands as often as she’d like.

The third mom? My wife of course! While I know my way around the 60D we own, she doesn’t quite yet (Once she deleted a ton of pictures on accident by formatting the card….she was not happy). To have them automatically uploaded to our PC would make her absolute ecstatic. I could also avoid telling her that I just dropped retail price on one of these and that would help me :)

So please, give it up for not one, but 3 Moms that would benefit from the Eye-fi pro!

  • John

My mom used this card as senior cred with her aquafitness lunch group. At 64, she is one hip lady and the eye-fi would blow her mind…and the mind-blowing will trickle across a whole team of silverbacked soup eaters…She’d love it!

  • Davidlcrooks

I would use this card to get my photos on to flickr faster. Thanks for the card!

  • Suzanne

My mom isn’t much into technology, so I’d probably use the card more than she would. But I’ll take a picture of her with it. Uploading always takes too much time.

  • Emily

I’ve taken over 10,000 images of my son since his birth in 2009. I’ve uploaded hundreds to flicker- this would make things that much easier!

  • R Prager

My mom must use this card because it ia so amazing simple to send her pictures to her computer. At this moment se struggles everytime with cables and cardreaders. It will give me and my dad a lot of extra qualitytime when she don’t need our help anymore.

This would make things so much easier and faster.

  • Bulldogg629

My mother would use this card….because she has yet to manually move any photos from her camera to the computer. 1,160 photos floating around on that card in the camera, never backed up! I fear for her photos!

  • http://www.facebook.com/BAT.1957 Bruce Taylor

Lots and lots more pictures of the kids until the card is full and she asks (again) how to empty it.

  • Joehensel85

Her pictures would actually make it onto the computer!

  • http://twitter.com/coffeephoto Coffee Photography

    We could shoot together

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=735784122 Michael Jackson

Would use this memory card to easily transfer my memories to my computer, to quickly share photos with my Mom!

  • Frank

My mom would benefit from this Eye-Fi Pro X2 card, because it would make it easier and faster for me transfer, then share pics of my daughter with my mom. By the way, my daughter happens to be my mom’s first and only grandchild, so she really enjoys seeing pics of her, since she lives about 400 miles away. Thanks for the opportunity.

  • Anonymous

Mom would use this card by “allowing” me to use it on my adventures with the dog to bring her back photos and put together photo-books for her and dad, who since they can’t get out anymore this is how they get to “travel” with us now…

  • http://www.seagrampearce.com SeagramP

My mom would be able to keep tabs on what I’m shooting by watching her iPad. So instead of telling her what I’m busy with all the time, she can see! :)

  • http://fokkomuller.nl Fokko Muller

Come on! My mother is almost 80 years old. She uses a 25 year old cell phone and take no photos at all. And all those comments on giving such a gadget to their mom’s. Do you believe it? Let’s be honest, you all want to keep it to yourselves! Me too. So send it to The Netherlands please!

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1269061250 Ed Adams

My Mom is dead but my wife would use it to do more family pictures and send them to our family

  • Brian Coram

So excited! No more losing pictures from accidental deletion! No more Mom saying “Get me some pictures!” Thanks Phoblographer! You have been emailed!
