Field Review: Canon PowerShot S95 (Day 4)
One of the S95‘s most heavily publicized features is its in-camera high-dynamic-range (HDR) mode. It’s tucked into the scene modes, under the SCN position on the mode dial. It takes 3 bracketed shots, then compiles them into a single HDR picture. The resulting image can be quite striking, but it takes some effort to get right. You absolutely need a tripod or some other stabilizing device for HDR shots to be usable; if there’s the slightest shake in the camera during the second it takes to capture the three exposures, the entire photo will become a blurry, shadowed mess. If you can set up a tripod and put the camera on a short timer to avoid any jostling from pushing the button, you can take some great-looking, vibrant photos in otherwise unusable lighting. Hands On Review: Pentax K-5
After seeing the Pentax 645D in action and getting samples from the the K-5 and 645D, I’ve come to the conclusion that the Pentax K-5is essentially a mini-645D with some different features.
A Quick Test with the Spyder Lenscal at Photo Plus Expo
While everyone was busy having fun at the tweetup, I was stuck writing you this posting about just how awesome the Spyder Lenscal is and uploading videos to a server. So here, while you weren’t at Photo Plus Expo 2010, I was able to check out the product and saw just how off one of my lenses was.

Quick Hands On With the Canon 7DSV
When Canon finally came out and announced the 7D SV, photographers with special niche needs looked at it with interest. We were able to get photos of the menu shortly after that and here at Photo Plus Expo 2010 we got personal fondling time with the camera. Chuck Westfall and other PR reps gave me a quick tour.
