Canon Announces XF Line of Pro Camcorders- Featuring 3D and Infrared
Today, Canon introduced a new line of professional grade camcorders: the XF105 and XF100. The camcorders allow for 3D video to be shot when two of them are paired together. Canon further claims that the infrared shooting with allow the cameras to shoot in complete darkness. The release and a comparison is after the jump, but there is no word on pricing. To my eyes though, these look like higher grade HV camcorders in terms of ergonomics.

Olympus Announces New Limited Edition Black EP-2 and Lenses
Today, Olympus announced a limited edition black EP-2 Pen camera along with accessories to match for the fashionista/special ops types. On top of this are the announcement of new lenses—the M.ZUIKO DIGITAL ED 75-300mm f4.8-6.7 will be available in December 2010, while the M.ZUIKO DIGITAL ED 40-150mm f4.0-5.6 will be available in November 2010. Keeping My Distance: Shooting Justin Long On a Movie Set
So I’ve blogged before about Julia Roberts, Sarah Jessica Parker, and even Gerard Butler. With Going The Distance coming into theaters later on this week, it is time that Justin Long and my encounter with him be shared. In general, my experience has been that male celebrities couldn’t care less about being photographed. As you’ll read, Justin doesn’t exactly like having a 5D Mk IIpointed at him.

Field Review: Sony NEX 5 (Day 5)
The Sony NEX 5has an ISO range from 100-12,800. Most photos in the previous postings have been shot at ISO 1600 and below and so the higher ISOs had to be tested. How did the new NEX 5 sensor perform? As a note, this posting has been written after the release of Lightroom 3.2 and so everything was shot in RAW.
