As a photographer Im definately looking forward to something like the HP slate. Im glad to read something useful for me about the IPAD, its all the rage just like MAC computers were for photographers but Im PC gal myself and if this slate happens to be something of good use, count me in. I look forward to your review.

Information on the specs of The Slate are limited right now. As I said in the posting we can only speculate what kind of processor the tablet will have. I hope though to get some hands on time with it in the near future and then perhaps I can write a follow up to this posting about it...

I had assumed that the HP Slate would come with a Wacom pen/touch screen, hopefully capacitive. Was I wrong?

If yes, we're good to go for now, and later maybe they will up the specs. If not, I don't know where to turn, maybe back to the Fujitsu p1630, or over to the Motion. I wanted it light, though.

Hey Jeff,

That's a very, very good question. I'm going to take a look into that after Vincent's postings are completed. I never thought of that question.

I'm fascinated by this slate category as a whole (especially those with multitouch). They appear to be the perfect devices for trips/taking snaps on the go, but what about video? Do they have enough horsepower to process video clips without taking hours to do so?
